Kline
Earns 11th Place Finish at Mountain Speedway
(April 29, 2012) After losing “The Captain” Bruce
Miglino, a crewmember and good friend of his, Dave
Brigati of Long Island, NY was determined to win the
Sport Modified feature at Mountain Speedway on Sunday.
It wasn’t an easy task for last seasons champion, but
when it was all said and done, Brigati and his team
stood tall in victory lane.
Nick Pecko started from the pole and led the opening
circuit of the 40-lap Sport Modified feature over Jim
Bojohnny, Scott Adams, Chip Wanamaker and Todd Baer.
With Pecko still in command, Wanamaker moved by Baer and
into the fourth spot on lap eight and Dave Brigati
cracked the top five two laps later.

About the driver, Mike Kline...
Mike Kline began racing ¼ Midgets when he was only 5
years old. In little time he became competitive and
began to win, which gave him the desire to achieve more
for the young talent.
He
raced ¼ Midgets in 11 different states and competed in
eight national events. In ¼ Midgets alone, he amassed
over 150 feature victories!
At
age 13, Mike jumped into the 4-Cylinder Stock division
at Mountain Speedway. He gained valuable track time on
the asphalt surface and at times he raced against
competitors five times his age. Mike finished off the
season as the highest finishing true rookie in the
points standings and set his sights on the next year.
At 14 years of age in 2010, Mike scored his first
4-Cylinder feature win. In a tight championship battle
all year, he went on to win four more times and lost the
division title by a very small margin in the last race
of the season. Along with his points trophy at the
season ending banquet, Kline was also named the
division’s “Hard Charger” for the season.
Ready to advance in his
racing career, Kline’s family purchased an open wheel
Modified. Kline only ran four races with the car in
2011, but he did manage to score one top ten finish and
gained some valuable track time in a division that is
filled with talented racers.
If more team funding for tires, fuel and upkeep on the
car come through, keep an eye on Mike Kline this season
at Mountain Speedway, as he hopes to compete for “Rookie
of the Year” honors in the Sport Modified division.
